Snareweight #5 Brass Tone Enhancer (for triple-flanged steel hoops)
Snareweight #5 Brass Tone Enhancer (for triple-flanged steel hoops)
Snareweight #5 is the fifth generation, built for metal triple flange hoops (die cast hoops need a pro lock). It's made to last of a weighted solid 3/4lbs. chunk of CNC'd brass. The weight, friction of leather insert and magnet, all work together to create what we call "expressive dampening"—giving color options to your playing all the way through the dynamic range.
Size: 1.87” wide x 2.44 “ long x 0.66” thick.
The neodymium arched magnet secures the Snareweight to the hoop while at the same time securing the leather insert of your choice for your dampening digs. Snareweight #5 is the only body you will ever need. Slide the #5 around the rim with one hand while hitting the drum with the other until you find the sweet spot.
NCLUDES: Brass Body /Standard Insert /Case
Since the 1st designs of 2011, there have been a few improvements to the magnet and magnet enclosure. Recessed screws now anchor the magnet as well as a raised brass lip to prevent the magnet from chipping. Also we included what we call the "absorber" above the magnet to prevent jitter at certain tuning. This also costs more to manufacture but we feel in the long run it's worth it.
Other info: Snareweight #5 is our flagship damper offering the most options for dialing in the right amount of dampening quickly.
Snareweight adds mass to the head which helps to evenly smooth the lower-mid ringing frequencies that can't be reached with other methods while keeping the tone of your shell in tact. The unwanted ring of the high frequencies are shaped by the chosen insert in a snap by matching the insert with your favorite drum head.
From an engineering stand point with the weight of a Snareweight #5, you get about 2-3 db of compression from your drum, which helps to reel it in for optimum recording levels and sitting in the mix without the need for more outboard gear, eq/compression, usually better to fix it from the source.
It turns out, the only way we like the finish of the brass is to do it by hand. This hand done work is reflected in the price. This new batch really turned out amazing and stoked to get it out to drummers that want the most out of their drum.

Condition
Brand New
Brand New items are sold by an authorized dealer or original builder and include all original packaging. Products listed by authorized dealers that are unopened, new in box and are covered under the manufacturer’s original limited warranty.
B-Stock
Items that were opened and returned, have a cosmetic imperfection or were used as demo units in a shop. Many B-Stock items come with a limited manufacturer’s warranty.
Mint (Used)
Mint condition items are completely blemish-free and have not been modified in any way. If there are any blemishes and/or modifications, the item needs to be listed as a condition less than mint.
Excellent (Used)
Excellent items are almost entirely free from blemishes and other visual defects and have been played or used with the utmost care. When an item has been used, but only has minor cosmetic defects, this can be considered Excellent. Minor surface level scratches, such as fingerprints or stick marks from regular use, would qualify.
Very Good (Used)
Very Good describes items with more cosmetic imperfections than Excellent, but are still in great condition overall. There may be some scratches, finish dings, slight keyholing or light pitting, but nothing that affects the playability or function of the gear.
Good (Used)
Good condition includes items that are in fine working order, but have significant cosmetic imperfections. A cymbal with substantial fleabites, or an old snare drum with some surface rust on the lugs would be classified as Good. Items with dents, or corrosion qualify as Good as long as they are still playable and fully functional.
Fair (Used)
Fair condition items have various imperfections that impact the function of the item. Fair items aren’t broken, but have some minor functional issues. Examples of items in Fair condition are cymbals with repaired cracks, or a playable drum kit with several extra holes.
Poor (Used)
Poor condition items have clear functional problems that will generally require repair. Examples of items in Poor condition include a snare drum with broken lugs, a cymbal with substantial un-repaired cracks, or a drum kit stripped of its finish and missing hoops or other hardware.
