In 1994 Ludwig released a limited number of very special Black Beauties to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the company's most historically iconic snare drum model. This 6.5x14" Supraphonic configuration is number 238 of that run. All original including the hard case, and with the exception of Pearl snare wires. This drum has been kept very well, though at over 30-years-old, does show some light hazy tarnish on the plating. An icon from the start, this exceptional drum is ready to find a new home, and maybe its yours?

"Black Beauty Series The Ludwig Black Beauty has been a Ludwig tradition for 70 years. The shell is constructed of a single sheet of brass that is machine drawn and spun into a seamless great sounding drum then Black Antiqued finished. This drum has a full resonance and a sound of pure brilliance. Choose Super Sensitive or Supraphonic models in smooth or hammered American made shells. Ltd. Edition Engraved Series The Hand Engraved Black Beauty snare drum is a Limited Edition that will only increase in value. It features the traditional brass shell that is Black Antiqued and hand engraved to bring out the radiant brass. Each model is fitted in a deluxe plush lined wood case. A brass plate is attached to the shell with a recorded serial number and William F. Ludwig Jr's signature.
Collectors Snare Cases
Ludwig's deluxe collectors snare drum cases are constructed of wood with black vinyl covering, brass corners and latches. Soft plush lining offers maximum protection for your prized snare drums."

Brand New

B-Stock
Items that were opened and returned, have a cosmetic imperfection or were used as demo units in a shop. Many B-Stock items come with a limited manufacturer’s warranty.
Mint (Used)
Mint condition items are completely blemish-free and have not been modified in any way. If there are any blemishes and/or modifications, the item needs to be listed as a condition less than mint.
Excellent (Used)
Excellent items are almost entirely free from blemishes and other visual defects and have been played or used with the utmost care. When an item has been used, but only has minor cosmetic defects, this can be considered Excellent. Minor surface level scratches, such as fingerprints or stick marks from regular use, would qualify.
Very Good (Used)
Very Good describes items with more cosmetic imperfections than Excellent, but are still in great condition overall. There may be some scratches, finish dings, slight keyholing or light pitting, but nothing that affects the playability or function of the gear.
Good (Used)
Good condition includes items that are in fine working order, but have significant cosmetic imperfections. A cymbal with substantial fleabites, or an old snare drum with some surface rust on the lugs would be classified as Good. Items with dents, or corrosion qualify as Good as long as they are still playable and fully functional.
Fair (Used)
Fair condition items have various imperfections that impact the function of the item. Fair items aren’t broken, but have some minor functional issues. Examples of items in Fair condition are cymbals with repaired cracks, or a playable drum kit with several extra holes.
Poor (Used)
Poor condition items have clear functional problems that will generally require repair. Examples of items in Poor condition include a snare drum with broken lugs, a cymbal with substantial un-repaired cracks, or a drum kit stripped of its finish and missing hoops or other hardware.
