In the 1990s, many of these logs—from trees already hundreds of years old at the time of their submergence—were harvested and made available to discerning and sustainability-conscious craftspeople for premium grade furniture, flooring, and musical instruments.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis 5.5x14\" solid red birch shell was steam bent and shaped by Johnny Craviotto in 2003, and outfitted with 10 nickel plated tube lugs, nickel-plated hoops engraved by John Aldridge, and a Nickelworks piston throw off.
